Generosity is a biblical principle that reflects God’s love and mercy to us through His Son, Jesus Christ. We are reminded that the more we sow, the greater the harvest. Each and every one of us has been blessed with the means to give back to God—even if that amount is less than we would like.
Twice each year we collect our Alabaster Offering. Individuals are challenged to regularly contribute the cost of items they desire but do not need. The boxes also serve as reminders to pray for those people who will benefit from Alabaster buildings.
Alabaster Offering goes toward the purchase of land and construction of churches, schools, medical facilities, and homes for missionaries and national workers.
“While he (Jesus) was in Bethany, reclining at the table in the home of a man known as Simon the Leper, a woman came with an alabaster jar of very expensive perfume, made of pure nard.
She broke the jar and poured the perfume on his head…Wherever the gospel is preached throughout the world, what she has done will also be told, in memory of her.” Mark 14:3b- 11, NIV.
Our small cardboard boxes replace the alabaster jar but the content is just as precious. Please contact us if you require an Alabaster Box for your offerings this year.
